Mahilpur: MLA Dr. Ishank provided assistance of Rs 18 lakh for the repair of thatched roofs of poor families in various villages of Chabbewal assembly constituency. Under this, today at his Chabbewal office, he distributed cheques to 180 beneficiaries, with which they can repair their roofs.
This amount was presented to the needy families of villages like Maruli Brahmana, Bhilowal, Naurangabad, Chabbewal, Naugrwan, Bassi Kalan, Rajpur Bhaian, Mall Mazara, Pandori Bibi, Rajni Devi, Harmoya, Lehli Khurd etc. On this occasion, MLA Dr. Ishank said that the Punjab government is committed for the welfare of the people and is fulfilling the promise of a solid roof on the head of every family.
He said, "We are trying to ensure that every house in the area has a solid roof, so that no family is affected by the weather." This help is being provided to the needy people under government schemes. After receiving the cheque, the beneficiaries thanked the MLA and the Punjab government. They said that this help is very important for them, because due to financial constraints they could not get their roof repaired.
On this occasion, the Panchayat members, presidents, and village leaders present also appreciated the MLA's efforts and expressed hope that more people will also get this help in the next phase. Dr. Ishank further said that this help will continue continuously and more needy families will also be reached.
He said that he is always ready to serve the people.
