National Desk- The rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh since Monday has made the cold and weather conditions even more challenging in various parts of the state. High-altitude areas like Narkanda, Manali and Kufri received heavy snowfall, causing tourists and locals to also face cold.

Shimla's ridge plains and surrounding areas received light snowfall, while Manali and Narkanda received up to 3 inches of snowfall. A quarter of a foot of snowfall was recorded on both sides of the Atal Tunnel Rohtang, affecting traffic on the roads. Pangi and Bharmour areas of Chamba district also received snowfall.
Around 250 roads in the state have been closed due to snowfall and rain, causing traffic to come to a standstill in remote areas. The Meteorological Department has also forecast snowfall and thunderstorms for March 4, especially in higher areas. A yellow alert has been issued in Chamba, Kangra and Lahaul-Spiti, advising local residents to be vigilant. During this time, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the state have been recorded two to six degrees below normal, further increasing the impact of cold.
