
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain visited the De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center as soon as she assumed charge
Hoshiarpur, February 26- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today visited the District De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center along with senior officials as soon as she assumed charge and reviewed the treatment and facilities being provided to the drug addicts and said that in the coming time, necessary enhancement in the facilities being provided at the center is being considered.
Hoshiarpur, February 26- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today visited the District De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center along with senior officials as soon as she assumed charge and reviewed the treatment and facilities being provided to the drug addicts and said that in the coming time, necessary enhancement in the facilities being provided at the center is being considered.
While visiting with SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harbans Kaur and the staff of the center, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain interacted with the drug addicts and said that the Punjab Government and the District Administration are ready to provide them all possible help so that they can enjoy a healthy life.
She said that along with the treatment of the victims, the district administration is also seriously considering setting up employment opportunities for them after their complete recovery, so that they can stand on their own feet after recovery. She said that the administration will also take suggestions from time to time to improve the lives of the youth undergoing treatment and to eliminate the evil of drug addiction from the society, on which necessary action will be ensured.
Taking information about the capacity and facilities of the center from Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harbans Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, he said that in the coming days, facilities related to sports, exercise, skill development will be further improved.
He said that the center has the capacity to treat 60 drug addicts and at present only 60 victims are being treated and the number of beds will also be increased in the coming days. While reviewing the counseling, he emphasized the need for skill development and said that after recovery, the victims can start their work according to their interest.
SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik said that drug prevention is the main priority of the state government and the police department, under which necessary steps are being taken for drug prevention. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar, Psychiatrist Dr. Raj Kumar, Medical Officer Dr. Mahima Manhas, besides counselors and staff were also present.
