
District Health Department sets up special NCD counters at various facilities
SAW Nagar, Feb 24: The district health department has set up special counters for screening and treatment of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Giving details, Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain said that special NCD counters have been set up at various government health institutions in the district under the special NCD campaign that began on February 20 and will end on March 31 across the country. She informed that special camps are being organised at Ayushman Arogya Kendras and other government health institutions for people above the age of 30 years.

It is worth mentioning that non-communicable diseases include hypertension, blood sugar, cancer etc., which are long-lasting. Dr Jain informed that the District Programme Officers and Senior Medical Officers are monitoring the campaign and Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committees (VHSNC) have also been roped in to make the rural masses aware.
The civil surgeon further said that all the staff including community health officers, health workers, ASHA workers are working hard for the success of the campaign. He said that regular and timely checkup of these diseases is very important, so all the people above the age of 30 years should go to the nearest health facility center without wasting time and get the checkup and treatment done, which is completely free.
