Instructions to convey the latest recommendations of Agricultural University to farmers

Patiala, February 5- To make agricultural business profitable and motivate farmers to adopt subsidiary businesses as well as to make them aware of the proven technologies of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, a meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala. It was chaired by Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
Principal Agronomist Dr. Jaswinder Singh attended this meeting as a special guest. Dr. Mandeep Singh, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur, Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Dr. Ashok Kumar from Farm Advisory Service Center, Patiala and Sangrur were also present in this meeting. The guests, led by Dr. Hardeep Singh Sabhikhi, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala, were taken on a tour of the technical park, demonstration plots and seed farm of the center.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Gurpadesh Kaur, Professor (Home Science) welcomed the guests. Thereafter, Dr. Hardeep Singh Sabhikhi shared information with the attendees about the training courses, field experiments and other extension activities organized by the centre. Various scientists of KVK also shared the work done in their subject and the action plan regarding the trainings to be organized in the year 2025-26 and took suggestions from the guests.
Chief Guest Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar directed the agricultural scientists to disseminate the latest recommendations of the university to the farmers for sustainable agriculture. Dr. Jaswinder Singh encouraged the farmers and officials present to participate more and more in the extension work organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala.
Progressive farmers Kulwinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Narinder Singh, Parminder Singh, Randhir Singh, Ajaib Singh, Gurpreet Singh and enterprising women Harjeet Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur and Bhupinder Kaur shared their experiences on beekeeping, crop production, vegetable cultivation, mushroom production, food processing and floral handicrafts.
