Una, December 31- Under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission, an amount of about Rs 2.30 crore will be spent in Una district in the coming financial year to promote activities such as fruit, vegetable and flower production. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal while presiding over the district level meeting of Integrated Horticulture Development Mission on Tuesday.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission, farmers are being encouraged to produce fruits, flowers, mushrooms, honey and vegetables. Financial assistance is provided by the government for these activities. Free travel and accommodation is also provided to farmers for training within and outside the state. Apart from this, 40 to 50 percent subsidy is also given on creation and purchase of agriculture related activities like irrigation structure, purchase of agricultural equipment and machinery, improved seeds and plants, fertilizers and pesticides etc.
He informed that under this mission there is a provision of 40 percent subsidy along with a loan facility of Rs 40 lakh for developing the infrastructure of high tech nursery on 4 hectares of land, and Rs 7.5 lakh for setting up a mini nursery in one hectare area. 50 percent subsidy is provided for the construction of polyhouse. While a subsidy of Rs 75 thousand is given on purchase of power tiller of capacity more than 8 VHP and Rs 50 thousand on tiller of less capacity than this. Farmers are provided subsidy of up to Rs 8 lakh for setting up mushroom production unit and fertilizer manufacturing unit.
Deputy Director Horticulture KK Bhardwaj, Subject Experts Horticulture Shiv Bhushan and Sanjay Sharera, Horticulture Development Officers Kavita, Virendra and Neha, non-official members of Mission Meenakshi Saini from Krishi Vigyan Kendra Una, Sansar Chand from Una Development Block and Surjeet Singh from Amb Development Block participated in the meeting.
