In this regard, ASP Jayant Puri and police station in-charge Sukhbir Singh said that the pistol used in the incident and 8 live cartridges have been recovered from the arrested criminal. He said that this weapon is illegal, which Karan had brought from UP.
He said that Karan Sharma has been arrested from Himachal and initial investigation has revealed that Karan Sharma has no previous criminal record. He said that Karan Sharma, Shubham and the said girl (all three) work in a company in Phase 8B. Shubham is still undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh. He said that the accused Karan Sharma is currently living in Dhanas Chandigarh.
It is worth noting that on Wednesday late night, Shubham was sitting with a female friend in a park in Phase 4. Meanwhile, a young man named Karan Sharma came to the park and started asking the girl why she was sitting with Shubham. The girl told Karan that she no longer had any relationship with him (Karan) and she could go anywhere with anyone of her choice. Shubham also asked Karan to leave from there, after listening to Shubham's words, Karan and Shubham got into an argument and they had a fight over the girl.
After this, the girl calmed both of them down and the girl started going out of the park with Shubham. As soon as Shubham and the girl reached the gate of the park, Karan, who was following, fired two bullets at Shubham, one of which hit Shubham between his neck and shoulder. Shubham fell down after being hit by the bullet and Karan fled from the spot.
The PCR party reached the spot and admitted the injured Shubham to Phase 6 Civil Hospital, where the doctors, seeing his critical condition, referred him to Sector 32 Chandigarh Hospital.
