Pensioner's Day celebrated with pomp

Hoshiarpur- Punjab Pensioner Welfare Association District Hoshiarpur celebrated the annual Pensioner's Day with pomp at Bharat Palace Hoshiarpur. It was presided over by the General Secretary and District President of the Association Kulwaran Singh. This program was dedicated to the late Baba Bohad Shri Mahendra Singh Pariwana ji of the Pensioner Organization.

The chief guest of this program was Mr. Alok Kumar Gupta, Sub Divisional Head of Punjab National Bank Hoshiarpur and as special guests were great trade union leader Master Harkanwal Singh, Mr. Javand Singh District President Gurdaspur, Mr. Satish Rana Convenor Punjab Employees Pensioner United Front. At the beginning of the program, two minutes of silence was observed to pay tribute to the pensioners who died during the current year. Releasing the proceedings of the program to the press, State Press Secretary Balbir Singh Saini said that at the beginning of the program, Senior Vice President Suraj Prakash, who was playing the role of stage secretary, highlighted the struggles and organizational activities done by the organization in the past.
District Secretary Kripal Singh welcomed the Chief Guest, Special Guests and the participating pensioners. During this, the organizational annual report was presented by him and the financial report by Mr. Sudesh Chandra Sharma. Both the above reports were passed unanimously by the House. During the program, various speakers expressed their views and strongly condemned the harmful policies of the Aam Aadmi Party government towards employees / pensioners.
The speakers raised the demands of the pensioners, which include giving pension to the pensioners retired before 2016 by revising it with a coefficient of 2.59, releasing the arrears from 1.1.2016 to 30.6.2021 in lump sum, releasing the arrears and installments of DA and implementing the cashless scheme and increasing medical allowance to Rs 1500. The demands of giving Rs 2000 per month, restoring the old pension system to the employees recruited regularly from January 4, giving GP fund in place of CPF, restoration of raw employees, new recruitment and regularization were strongly condemned and strong protest was raised against the Mann government of Punjab.
The speakers accused the Mann government of refusing to give time for meetings even during the struggles carried out from time to time. The leaders spoke against the actions of all the governments and said that all the political leaders are no longer trustworthy due to the difference in their words and actions, hence they urged the pensioners to be ready for further struggles.
