
DC Aashika Jain asks SDM Mohali to liaise with Chandigarh Administration to widen and convert Gurdwara Sanjha Sahib Road

She said that the works which require approval and coordination with other departments or UT authorities and Railways should be given top priority by fixing timelines.

Damandeep Kaur, SDM Mohali was asked to liaise with her Chandigarh UT counterpart to resolve the issue of widening and converting Gurdwara Sri Sanjha Sahib Road on a regular basis. This road is hampering the completion of work from Sector 48/65 to Dara Studio.
Instructed ADC (UD) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal and EO Zirakpur Ashok Kumar to prepare acquisition plan for early completion of Zirakpur-Patiala (NH 64) highway from Bawa White House in Dayalpura area falling under MC Zirakpur limits. About 20.64 acres of land is required to be acquired for completion of this stretch of road.
Urging Sr. Assistant Divisional Engineer, Railways, Vijay, who was also part of the review meeting, to assist in speedy resolution of pending issues with Railways such as inadequate carriage-way width near railway crossing JLPL and to materialize the proposal for constructing a dual carriage-way under bridge at junction 75/76-90 for railway line near village Chilla, another proposal for dual carriage-way railway under pass at junction 98/106-107 to 100/104 near railway line.
Asking the GMADA and traffic police officials to give concrete shape to the proposal for removal of sharp turn near Gurdwara Mata Sunder Kaur Sahib for completion of PR 7 road NH-64 (Chat Light Point) to NH 21 (Gopal Sweets), the deputy commissioner said that the execution of works should be done at a fast pace to give relief to commuters from traffic difficulty. He said that the district administration would coordinate with PSIEC to make some land available for smoothening the traffic from junction 72/73-74/75 (Quark City) and junction 73/74.
The deputy commissioner directed the rural development department officials to resolve the issue of village pond which is creating hindrance in the completion of 8-lane dual carriage-way road dividing sector 89/90. Directed the PWD officer to immediately follow up on the proposal to upgrade Chapparchiri Kalan to Chapparchiri Khurd (to decongest Landra-Kharar road) and Pabhat-Alipur-Nadiali-Dayalpura link road, through DC office, to provide alternate roads.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain while reviewing the progress made after the first meeting with MC, GMADA, PWD, local body and rural development officials, stressed on a time-bound and result-oriented approach to provide relief to commuters on Mohali roads. She said that any difficulty or issue should be immediately brought to her notice so that an inter-departmental coordination meeting could be held.
The meeting was attended by ADCs Viraj S Tidarke, Anmol Dhaliwal and Sonam Choudhary, MC Commissioner T Benith, SDMs Damandeep Kaur Mohali and Gurminder Singh Kharar, Assistant Commissioner MC Mohali Deepankar Garg, DSP Traffic Karnail Singh, PWD XENs HS Bhullar and Shivpreet Singh, SE Nitin Kamboj from GMADA and Town Planning representative from GMADA.
