Garhshankar- Under the guidance of Assistant Director Youth Services Hoshiarpur at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar; National Service Scheme Unit of the college in collaboration with Education Department and Social Entrepreneurship Swachhta Rural Engagement Cell (SESRAC) organized an essay competition and oath-taking ceremony on National Youth Day.
In the essay competition organized on the topic ‘Role of Youth Generation in Nation Building’, student Kuldeep Kumar secured first place, Charanjit Kaur secured second place, Raviya Agarwal and Avneet Kaur secured third place. On this occasion, the students took oath to contribute their bit to make the country strong. College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira, while giving advice to the students on how to stay physically and mentally healthy, inspired them to continue contributing to the service of the country in various ways, taking guidance from the life of Swami Vivekananda Ji.
Senior Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur congratulated the winning students and motivated them to participate in such programs in the future. On this occasion, NSS Coordinators Dr. Arvinder Singh and Dr. Naresh Kumari, Coordinator of SESSRAC Dr. Manbir Kaur, Coordinator of Red Ribbon Dr. Arvinder Kaur and Prof. Kiranjot Kaur of the Education Department were present.
