Dean College Development Council Dr. Balraj Singh Saini, while attending as the chief guest, said that the world now needs to return to renewable energy sources. He said that till now we have caused so much damage to natural resources and the environment that morally we should apologize to our next generation.
In another important comment, he said that if people around the world deal with their egos, then everything can go well without damaging natural resources. He said that the whole world can survive on solar energy. Dr. Manish Kapoor, Head of the Department of Botany, who was the main speaker, while addressing the students present here, said that it is now their responsibility to keep nature clean and reduce pollution.
He said that it is not enough to just celebrate Van Maha Utsav and plant some plants and share pictures on social media, but it is important to contribute to the growth of trees by taking care of those plants. He said that in modern times, many problems have increased due to urbanization, due to which green areas have been destroyed and these buildings are coming up in these areas, which is a dangerous trend.
Finance Officer Dr. Pramod Agarwal, who was present as the special guest, while speaking on this topic, highlighted the facts about the existence of adulterated culture in different areas and also promoted the agriculture model with a friendly approach towards nature. Prof. from Curtin University, Perth Raquel Sheffield, referring to the 'Chipko Movement', said that there is a need to learn from such dedicated ancestors towards nature.
Dr. Paul Gardner from Curtin University, Perth read some material from his released book 'For the Love of Trees' on the occasion, which was about the positive attitude towards nature adopted by a special community of Indian society.
Head of the Department, Dr. Jagpreet Kaur, in her welcome remarks, talked about the program and the theme of the three-day conference. Conference chair, Dr. Rekha Kaul, who arrived from Curtin University, Perth, also expressed her views.
