Patiala, November 21: The meeting of the Road Safety Committee constituted by Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav was held today under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner Rajat Oberoi. In this meeting, SP City Sarfaraz Alam, ACA PDA Jashanpreet Kaur, Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur, DSP Traffic Achhru Ram Sharma, Harkiran Pal Singh, Superintending Engineer; Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Piyush Goyal, representatives of Transport Department, Mandi Board and officers of the Land Branch of the Corporation were present.
Municipal Commissioner Rajat Oberoi said that in this meeting, a short-term proposal was discussed to regulate the traffic problem of Bhupindra Road and Khanda Chowk under the short-term plan and the officials gave their suggestions for regulating the traffic.
He said that in this meeting it was decided that after taking suggestions from the shopkeepers and the general public of Bhupindra Road and Khanda Chowk, it will be implemented within a week. Under the plan, street vendors present from Leela Bhawan Chowk, Gopal Sweets to Badungar Chowk, Bhupindra Road, near Thapar College will be regulated so that there is no disruption in traffic.
The Municipal Commissioner said that this short-term proposed traffic plan should be implemented within the next one week, which will benefit the common people a lot.
