
District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia checks mustard oil factory
Hoshiarpur : As per the directions of Honorable Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab Dr. Abhinav Trikha and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, under the Healthy Punjab, the Food Safety Team of the Health Department is conducting raids in various parts of Hoshiarpur district to provide clean and quality food to the people in the district.
Hoshiarpur : As per the directions of Honorable Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab Dr. Abhinav Trikha and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, under the Healthy Punjab, the Food Safety Team of the Health Department is conducting raids in various parts of Hoshiarpur district to provide clean and quality food to the people in the district.
Following this, a raid was conducted by Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar, led by District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, in front of Sai Baba Temple in Hoshiarpur city, at Amrit Nagar, in which the license of the factory was checked, in which many shortcomings were found. Following this, a notice was issued to the factory owners and they were asked to get their licenses corrected. Food Safety Officer Mr. Vivek Kumar also took a sample of oil which has been sent to the Food Lab Kharar for inspection.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that no one who tampers with the health of the people will be spared. Appropriate action will be taken against those who do so as per the rules. He instructed the shopkeepers that no shop should have any expired food items. In case of such a situation, action will be taken under the Food Safety Standards Act. He said that the shopkeepers who are unregistered should get registered as soon as possible.
