
"Farmers may prefer to use other fertilizers as an alternative to DAP"
Patiala, November 15 - Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh appealed to farmers to use fertilizers with the advice of agricultural experts and as per the recommendations of Punjab Agricultural University; said that unnecessary use of fertilizers has a negative impact on the fertility of the land.

He said that NPK and other fertilizers can be used as an alternative to phosphorus. He said that farmers should sow wheat by using fertilizers that are alternatives to DAP at the time of sowing wheat. He said that the use of fertilizers can also be reduced by plowing crop residues into the ground. He said that checking is also being done at different places by the teams formed by the Agriculture Department. So that no fertilizer seller gives any other unnecessary fertilizers/medicines to the farmers along with DAP fertilizer or other fertilizers.
He said that phosphorus is a nutrient required for wheat cultivation, for which farmers use DAP fertilizer at the time of sowing. He said that farmers' manure and triple super phosphate fertilizer, single super phosphate and other phosphatic fertilizers can also be used as alternatives to DAP fertilizer. Apart from this, other phosphatic fertilizers available in the market can also be used.
