Meeting by District Health Department to bring equality in gender ratio and awareness of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'

Patiala, January 18 - To bring equality in gender ratio and to raise awareness of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', a meeting of PCPNDT District Appropriate Authority members was held by the District Health Department under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur. In which health officials also participated. Addressing the audience, Civil Surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur said that there is a need to change the mindset to improve the gender ratio.

Therefore, even though the PCPNDT Act has been implemented in the society, there has been a significant improvement in the gender ratio But for further improvement there is a need to change the mindset towards girls. The District Family Welfare Officer Dr. SJ Singh gave detailed information about the punishments and fines to be given to those who violate the PCPNDT Act and conduct gender testing. On this occasion, a calendar showing the awareness of 'Beti Bachao Beti Phadao' was also released.
On this occasion, District Attorney Davinder Goyal, District Program Officer Prabhjot Kaur, District Epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh, District Program Manager Ritika Grover, District Accounts Officer Amit Jain, District PNDT Coordinator Dr. Jaspreet Kaur etc. were present.
