Patiala, November 9 - The staff of the Patiala District Market Officer has caught a truckload of imported parmal paddy and handed it over to the police. Confirming this, District Market Officer Mandeep Singh said that according to the orders of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, the duties of various marketing committee staff have been assigned by the Deputy District Market Officer to check the unauthorized paddy and rice coming from outside Punjab.

Meanwhile, Gurmanak Singh Mandi Supervisor Nabha and his team stopped a truck during a surprise check at Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk Samana today. When the driver of the vehicle was asked about the bills, he did not have the bills.
The DMO gave further information and said that when asked about the market fee and Punjab Mandi Board token due on these vehicles, they did not receive any fee receipt and Punjab Mandi Board token. In this regard, a barrier report was sent to the Market Committee Moga on M/s Tirimurthy Gram Trading Company Moga which received a reply that this firm is not a licensee.
He said that it is also clarified here that if any kind of grain is to be brought in the state of Punjab, then it is necessary to have a BTS token, but this vehicle was found suspicious and Parmal Jiri was found in it. A written letter has been sent to Police Station City Samana to register a police case in this matter.
District Market Officer Mandeep Singh said that the checking of unauthorized paddy and rice coming from outside Punjab will continue continuously.
