Patiala, November 2 - On the occasion of Diwali, Deputy Commissioner of Patiala Dr. Preeti Yadav and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh praised the farmers who were handling straw in their fields. The DC and SSP reached the village of Hirdapur, where a big baler machine was making big bales of straw. He reviewed this machine and invited the farmers not to burn the stubble to increase the fertility of their land and avoid pollution.

He also visited Kishangarh village and encouraged the farmers to mix the straw in the ground or save the straw. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priti Yadav said that with the baler of a big machine operated by Narinder Singh Chaudhary, stubble is collected in about one hundred acres of land in a day and big bales of stubble are made under ex-situ management. He said that this machine is working in the villages of Bakhshiwal, Hirdapur, Lachkani and Sidhuwal etc., so farmers should not set fire after taking advantage of it.
