
Traditional dances of different states enthralled the audience at the Mohali Saras Mela
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 22: Artists from different states are continuously mesmerizing the audience by performing traditional dances of their respective states in the regional Saras Mela which has been going on since October 18 at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. From the stage of the Saras Mela, the artists of the Jugni Bhangra Club remembered the martyrs, whose names are still celebrated today, with speeches by Devinder Jugni Pradhan. His group enthralled the audience with traditional dialects re-remembering the forgotten heritage of today.

Apart from this, Yamla Jatt's song 'Charkha Ronda Darya Mein Mutiyar Bhin' Charkha Choreography was performed, which was well liked by the audience. Devinder Jugni J said that today's young generation is forgetting the old heritage items like Charkha, Madhani, Pidi, Darians, Pakhis etc. A message has also been given to the young generation through the stalls of old heritage goods set up in this fair to preserve old heritage goods.
During the Saras Mela, artists from different states performed traditional dances related to their state and the tunes of traditional music attracted the people who came to see the fair.
On this occasion, famous artist Rani Randeep enthralled the audience with her charming voice and popular songs through various songs.
Visitors during the fair said that the Saras Mela has proved to be a great means of entertainment as there are entertainment activities along with traditional food and exquisite handicrafts made by artisans and craftsmen available for purchase. He said that he was very happy to come here because the items related to Punjabi culture, which have almost disappeared from common homes like dari, pakhis, etc., are also put up for sale by self-help groups here, which is getting a great response from the visitors.
