Una, October 8 - Under the Samarth 2024 program of the District Disaster Management Authority, on Tuesday, the artists of Purvi Kala Manch Jalgran Tabba made people aware about earthquake safe building construction in sub-division Haroli. During this, the artists of Purvi Kala Manch informed the villagers at Haroli bus stand and Gram Panchayat Bathu about various techniques of building earthquake resistant houses to reduce the loss of life and property during earthquake. 
He said that the use of technology is very important to stay safe from disasters. He made people aware about the best cement mortar in building construction, horizontal earthquake resistant bands, strengthening of brick walls, vertical reinforcement in the jambs of openings, pillar construction, methods of piling, standards of concrete and essential elements used in making the foundation and also emphasized on the precautions to be taken during building construction. The artists said that before making any kind of structural change in the buildings, consult the engineer so that the damage caused by earthquake can be reduced.
Apart from this, the artists also appealed to the people to protect the environment and plant as many trees as possible. They said that by maintaining the balance of the environment, disasters can be controlled to a great extent.

Programs will be held here
In this series, on October 9, people will be made aware about building earthquake resistant buildings by Surbhi Kala Manch in Tehsil Ghanari (Headquarters) and Gram Panchayat Siddh Chalet and on October 10 in Gram Panchayat Badhera Rajputan and Gram Panchayat Ambota. Apart from this, on October 10 in Gram Panchayat Dhundhla and Gram Panchayat Raipur Maidan and on October 11 in Bus Adda Chintapurni and Gram Panchayat Panjoa, people will be made aware about earthquake safe building construction as well as disaster risks and measures through street plays by RK Kala Manch.
