Paralympics: Nishad Kumar won the silver medal

New Delhi, September 2 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Nishad Kumar for winning the silver medal in men's high jump T-47 at the Paris Paralympics. The 24-year-old Asian Games champion Nishad jumped 2.04 meters in the final to lose the gold medal to Roderick Townsend of the USA. This is Nishad's second Paralympic medal. He won the silver medal in Tokyo with a clearance of 2.06m.

Prime Minister X Post said that Nishad has shown us that with passion and determination everything is possible, India is happy. According to Olympics.com, Nishad Kumar said that I had cleared 2.10 meters during practice but today I could only clear 2.04 which is why I am disappointed.
Nishad's silver medal is India's seventh in Paris Para Games and third in athletics. Preeti Pal won bronze medals in the 100m and 200m T-35 category events. India has won four medals in para shooting.
