Shambhu Border: The Supreme Court formed a committee to resolve the issues of the protesting farmers in an amicable manner

New Delhi, September 2 - The Supreme Court today constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Justice Nawab Singh of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to resolve the demands and issues of the protesting farmers sitting on the Shambhu border in an amicable manner. Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujal Bhuiyan have instructed the committee to hold the first meeting within a week.

The apex court said that farmers' issues should not be politicized and the committee should consider these issues in a phased manner. The court said the farmers would be free to shift their peaceful protest to another place. The apex court was hearing the Haryana government's application challenging the High Court order.
The High Court had ordered the Haryana government to remove the barricades on Shambhu border near Ambala within a week.
