Una, 22 August. There is a modern hospital in Una district of Himachal Pradesh where animal diseases can be detected 6 months in advance. This ultramodern veterinary hospital located in Laldi of Haroli subdivision has become the center of a new medical revolution. Here ultramodern techniques are being used to identify and treat animal health problems, in which elastography facility is prominent. This technique predicts potential diseases and ensures timely treatment. This is probably the first and only medical institution in Himachal Pradesh where ultramodern medical facilities of this level are available for livestock.
According to Veterinary Officer of Animal Hospital, Dr. Manoj Sharma, 1891 major surgeries and 6173 minor surgeries have been performed so far in this hospital which has been operational since 2017. Apart from this, 5761 gynecological cases have been successfully treated. A total of 24867 medicine cases have been treated and 24080 pathological samples have been examined. Ultrasounds of 151 animals and 17 heart surgeries have also been performed in the hospital so far.

The hospital is equipped with modern medical services

Dr. Sharma says that an ultrasound machine worth Rs. 15 lakhs has been installed in the hospital in the month of April, with the help of which more than 125 complex operations have been successfully performed so far. Now an X-ray machine is also being installed here.

He says that along with him, Dr. Anoop Ruthwal, Dr. Neha Chauhan and Dr. Monika Thakur are providing services here. The entire staff including these 4 specialist doctors of surgery, medicine, gynaecology and pathology posted in the hospital is working diligently in the health care of livestock, dogs and other pets. Due to the availability of specialist services, referral cases come here from Himachal Pradesh as well as Punjab.

These facilities are available in the hospital

Dr. Sharma says that apart from elastography, there is also a facility of echo cardiography here, due to which heart diseases are also treated with modern methods. Soft tissue surgery, eye-ear-teeth, orthopedic surgery, thoracic surgery and difficult delivery are also treated here. Operations like tumor, cancer, infertility and contraception are done with foreign technology. Facilities of blood test, clinical biochemistry and other laboratory tests are also available in the hospital.

Hospital built on 2 Kanal land with a cost of Rs 2 crore

Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department Una, Dr. Vinay Sharma said that this hospital has been constructed on about 2 Kanal land at a cost of Rs 2 crore. In this, modern services are being made available at the doorstep of the livestock farmers. This has been possible only due to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri. Here, along with the treatment of complex diseases, difficult surgeries, livestock farmers are also advised about animal breeding and nutrition. He said that due to its expert services, modern facilities and equipment, this hospital has become an important institution for livestock farmers of not only Himachal Pradesh but also many districts of Punjab.
