The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, which was presented by Ismail. Azhar Khadim then addressed the gathering and highlighted the special significance of this place in Ahmadiya history. He said, “Hoshiarpur is famous for its antiquity and mutual brotherhood. It was here that the founder of Ahmadiya Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib, performed rigorous worship (Chilla) for 40 days in 1886 AD.”
He further said that after this prayer he received the good news (prophecy) of the birth of a son from Allah, which is known in Ahmadiyya literature as the "Prophecy of the Coming of the Prophet". Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib published this prophecy on green paper on 20 February 1886, which described 52 characteristics of the son to be born.
