Hoshiarpur- The Hoshiarpur district BJP unit welcomed the relief package of Rs 1600 crores announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the flood victims of Punjab and thanked the Modi government.
Issuing a press note, BJP District President Nipun Sharma said that this decision shows the sensitivity of Prime Minister Modi and his deep commitment towards Punjab. He said that the people of Punjab will never forget this assistance. Modi ji has once again proved that the Central Government has always given priority to Punjab and will give it in the future as well.
He said that in this hour of crisis, the Central Government is standing by. This step is not only financial help, but also a message that the Central Government is committed to the welfare of farmers, laborers and every section of the flood victims of Punjab. This package will speed up relief and rehabilitation work and help the affected families recover from the damage caused by the floods.
But the BJP alleged that while the Punjab government should have thanked the Modi government, there is a failed attempt to defame the central government through false propaganda to hide its failure.
Making serious allegations against the Mann government, the BJP said that the Mann government, which has become a puppet of the sand mafia, has pushed Punjab into hell. If steps had been taken on time, the damage could have been reduced, but the result of the government's failure is in front of everyone today.
The BJP said that the Mann government is demanding a package of 20 thousand crores from the center, but in reality it is not making any serious efforts from its side. An attempt is being made to get only political benefits by sending wrong figures to the central government, the people of Punjab are bearing the brunt of which. Despite this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given immediate assistance of Rs 1600 crore for Punjab and the assistance will continue in future too.
He also said that the Punjab government already has Rs 12,000 crore in SDRF, but it is being spent on non-essential works. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should also clarify from where the government will give compensation of Rs 20 thousand per acre.
