SAS Nagar, June 3, 2025: Civil surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain urged residents of the district to get their Abha ID (Ayushman Bharat health account) made to avail better healthcare services at health facilities.
She said Abha ID offers several benefits, including easy access to digital health records, secure data sharing. It also enables people to connect with various health benefits and access AYUSH treatment facilities.
Another benefit is that the patient does not need to stand in queue at the government hospital to get an OPD slip as there is a separate counter for Abha ID holders. Also, the patient does not need to carry his medical reports while consulting the doctor.
Dr Jain said Abha ID is as important as Aadhaar card. She said the district health department is registering citizens for the health card. Any citizen can visit the nearest government health facility centre or contact the health worker/Asha worker to get their ID made.
Also, any citizen can get their ID made on their own through the official website www.abha.abdm.gov.in without any charge as it is a completely free service. Medical helpline 104 can also be contacted for more information.
