Department of Botany, Punjabi University launches 'Alumni Lecture Series'

Patiala, February 20- Department of Botany, Punjabi University has launched its alumni lecture series 'Alumni Lecture Series'. Prof. N.S. Atri, alumnus and former faculty of the Department delivered the first lecture of the series on the topic 'Mycorrhiza'. He explained the nature and types of mycorrhiza. He also discussed the role of mycorrhiza in plant health, especially in crop plants and trees.

Atri, alumnus and former faculty of the Department delivered the first lecture of the series on the topic 'Mycorrhiza'. He explained the nature and types of mycorrhiza. He also discussed the role of mycorrhiza in plant health, especially in crop plants and trees.
Head of the Department, Prof. Manish Kapoor explained the objective of this lecture series during his welcome address. He said that the life experiences of the alumni of the Department would not only help in guiding the new students but could also become a source of inspiration for them. Dean Alumni Relations Prof. Gurmukh Singh also graced the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the contribution of the alumni in the development of the Department and the University.
Alumni of the Department, Prof. M.I.S. Saggu and Prof. J.I.S. were present on the occasion. Khattar also attended and appreciated the 'Lecture Series'. Students actively participated in the discussion session. In the end, Professor Munruchi Kaur gave the vote of thanks. Professor Geetika Sirhindi, Dr. Arneet Grewal, Dr. Avneet Pal Singh, Dr. Harjeet Kaur, Dr. Himani Pal and Mrs. Poonam also actively participated on the occasion.
