Vet Varsity organizes week long NSS camp

Ludhiana 06 August 2025- The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the College of Dairy and Food Science Technology organized a week long special Camp with the theme ‘Clean and green campus for sustainable environment’. During camp cleanliness drive was executed in the Administrative Block and Scientist Home premises. Dedicated NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in a series of activities. Cleaning inside and outside the college building, classrooms, corridors and other areas were accomplished.

During camp cleanliness drive was executed in the Administrative Block and Scientist Home premises. Dedicated NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in a series of activities. Cleaning inside and outside the college building, classrooms, corridors and other areas were accomplished.
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Assistant Director Publications and NSS Programme Coordinator said, “Campus Beautification was enhanced by painting of plant pots and trunks of trees.”
Dr. Narender Kumar Chandla, NSS Programme Officer mentioned that in the Experimental Dairy Plant, high level of cleanliness was achieved in the Pre-Processing, Processing and Packaging sections, ensuring hygienic conditions and smooth operational readiness.
The college also hosted two expert lectures during the program. Dr. Ashok Kumar delivered an insightful session on advancements and best practices in food processing and engineering. Dr. Pramesh Kumar, Assistant Professor of Food Processing, Curtin University, Australia, shared his expertise on emerging trends and international perspectives in food processing technologies.
Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Director Students’’ Welfare said, “the collective efforts of the NSS team have given the campus a refreshed and vibrant look, while the expert sessions have broadened the horizons of our students and faculty, reflecting our commitment towards both cleanliness and academic excellence through expert lectures”.
