
Urban Local Government Minister Vipul Goyal chaired a meeting of the Mayors' Council.
Chandigarh, September 10 - Haryana's Urban Local Government Minister Mr. Vipul Goyal today chaired an important meeting of the Mayors' Council. In this meeting, a detailed review of the preparations for the Sewa Pakhwada to be held from September 17 to October 2, 2025 was conducted. Special emphasis was laid on the cleanliness drive and urban development works in the meeting, so that all the municipal corporations of the state can become clean, beautiful and convenient.

In this meeting, a detailed review of the preparations for the Sewa Pakhwada to be held from September 17 to October 2, 2025 was conducted. Special emphasis was laid on the cleanliness drive and urban development works in the meeting, so that all the municipal corporations of the state can become clean, beautiful and convenient.
In the meeting, Minister Mr. Goyal directed that the cleanliness drive should be run on a large scale in all the municipal corporations during the Sewa Pakhwada. He appealed to all the mayors to promote health competitions for cleanliness in their respective areas. During this, special attention will be given to awareness programs related to cleanliness, waste management, and cleanliness of public places.
The Minister said that a cleanliness survey will be conducted in all the Municipal Corporations by the end of this year, under which the performance of cleanliness and infrastructure of the corporations will be assessed. He appealed to the Mayors to take this survey seriously and take concrete steps to make their areas top in the cleanliness ranking at the national level.
In the meeting, Mr. Vipul Goyal took details of the ongoing development works in their Municipal Corporations from all the Mayors. He emphasized that the public representatives should pay special attention to basic amenities like drinking water, roads, street lights and sewerage system. Development works should be completed in line with the needs and expectations of the common man, so that the citizens can get a better standard of living.
The Minister directed all the Mayors and Municipal Officers to work together for cleanliness and development. He said that cleanliness should not be just a campaign, but a lifestyle. For this, it is necessary to encourage public participation. He appealed to the mayors to involve local residents, voluntary organizations and youth in the cleanliness drive.
In the meeting, the Minister directed all the municipal corporations to intensify their preparations for the Seva Pakhwada starting from September 17. During this, along with cleanliness, emphasis will be placed on social awareness, building a presence and improving civic amenities.
The Minister said that this fortnight will be an important opportunity not only for cleanliness but also for community development. Mr. Goyal asked the public representatives to discharge their responsibilities with full responsibility and resolve the problems of the public immediately. He stressed that transparency and quality should be ensured in development works.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner and Secretary of Urban Local Bodies Department Vikas Gupta and Mayors of various Municipal Councils.
