Chandigarh, September 8 - Senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal and former Member of Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra has said that the Punjab government should demand a special financial package for the state from the Prime Minister of the country, Mr. Narendra Modi.

Chandigarh, September 8 - Senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal and former Member of Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra has said that the Punjab government should demand a special financial package for the state from the Prime Minister of the country, Mr. Narendra Modi.
In a statement issued here, he said that due to the floods in Punjab, the farmers, laborers and shopkeepers of the state have faced great devastation, which should be compensated immediately by the Central and State Governments.
He said that a committee should be formed under the leadership of five ministers of the Punjab Cabinet, which should give a complete report regarding the damage caused by the floods to the Punjab government and based on that report, a special financial package should be demanded from the Central Government.
He said that the Punjab and Central Governments should refrain from blaming each other and should provide relief to the flood victims.
