Punjab President Kulwinder Singh Waraich, Deputy Secretary Punjab Avtar Singh Tari, State Press Secretary Jasbir Deep, District President Gurdayal Rakkad, District Secretary Parveen Kumar Nirala said that today the working class is facing big challenges. The Modi government has made a big attack on the interests of the workers by bringing four pro-capitalist labor codes. Pro-labor laws have been abolished.
The welfare board created for the workers has become a headache for them instead of doing welfare for them. He said that by ignoring the demands of the workers, it is implementing its fascist, anti-labor, anti-minority, anti-democracy and anti-constitution agenda. A narrative is being created against migrant workers in Punjab. This should be strongly opposed.
The leaders said that the International Labor Day of May 1 is the day of the greatest historical importance for the workers. All the workers should celebrate this day with enthusiasm. As a preparation for this, it was also decided to celebrate a fortnight from April 15 to April 30 and to participate fully in the district level May Day being celebrated by IFTU at Vishwakarma Mandir Nawanshahr on May 1.
On this occasion, a 15-member committee including office bearers was also elected, in which Durgesh, Anil, Jasvir Singh, Pintu, Tej Pal, Azad, Mohammad Hareen, Islamuddin and Mukesh were elected.
