Una 8 September: Representatives of various employees unions of the district, led by Rajneesh Sharma, head of Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Federation, District Una, have jointly said that the decision taken by the state government to remove Higher Grade Pay by issuing a notification on 6 September regarding economic reforms is very disappointing. This decision has hurt the morale of lakhs of employees of the state.
He said that when the present government took a bold decision like giving OPS, every employee organization of the state supported the government with full honesty. But after this, whatever decisions the state government has taken regarding financial reforms, most of them have been anti-employee. It is completely unjust to snatch the economic interests of employees by citing the weak economic condition of the state and natural disasters.
Rajneesh said that the employees are aware of the current financial condition of the state and are silent on the payment of DA arrears which have been pending for a long time, but playing with the basic interests of the employees will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He has appealed to the state government to withdraw this notification immediately and instead of giving assurance of announcements for the payment of DA installments, issue a notification on time, otherwise the government itself will be responsible for forcing lakhs of employees of the state to take the path of struggle.
The joint statement was attended by General Secretary of Non-Gazetted Employees Federation District Una Rajesh Kumar, Senior Vice-President Tara Singh, State Representative Rajiv Pathak, Press Secretary Sanjeev Markar, Haroli Block President Harjinder Singh and General Secretary Prem Jaswal.
