Chandigarh, September 5 - Haryana Energy Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set the wheels of India's development in motion by reducing GST rates. Mr. Vij was answering the questions of media persons today.
The Energy Minister said that by changing/reducing GST rates, things will become cheaper, so there will be more purchases, if there is more purchases, then there will be more demand. If there is more demand, then more factories will be established. If more factories are established, then more employment will be provided. If more employment is provided, then more purchases will be made. In this way, if more factories are established, then more employment will be created. He said that this is how this cycle goes.
Mr. Vij said that common man's necessities like flour, milk, curd, butter, medicines, insurance etc. have been made cheaper, while 40 percent GST tax has been imposed on bidi, tobacco, liquor etc. In this way, the government has also given a message to stay away from bad habits.
He said that political will is very important to do anything. Our government has introduced and passed a bill on online gaming. Online gaming used to happen earlier, and it was bad earlier and it is still bad today, but the previous governments did not have the will to stop online gaming, but our government does not come under any pressure and wants to stop wrongdoings.
