Mohali 30 August - Senior Assistant Sukhwinder Singh, son of Sardara Singh, working in the Punjab School Board, has been missing from his native village Chunni Khurd since 26 February 2025. Fatehgarh Police has not even filed an FIR till date. Time is being wasted by writing a DDR.
Union President Ramandeep Kaur Gill and General Secretary Sukhchain Singh Saini wrote a letter to DGPP Punjab demanding that he immediately intervene in the matter and provide justice to the victim's family. They said that they had written a letter to SSP Fatehgarh Gh Sahib. But till date the police have not even filed an FIR. The news is being spread only by taking slow action in the name of investigation.
Sukhwinder Singh's uncle Jarnail Singh Chunni, former president of the Punjab School Education Board Employees Association, said that Sukhwinder Singh was going through mental stress due to misbehavior by an official during the board's papers.
Due to which, on the evening of February 26, Sukhwinder Singh went to the village market with his neighbor, but after that he did not return home. The person who accompanied him gave his money and mobile home and said that Sukhwinder had fallen into the standing water near the bridge built on the road. He said that immediately after this, the family members searched the place thoroughly but Sukhwinder Singh was not there. He is missing from his native village Chunni, Fatehgarh Sahib district.
The Fatehgarh Sahib police has not yet been able to get to the bottom of the case about him. The family members had filed a DDR in the relevant police station on February 27 itself. But till date, the Fatehgarh Sahib police has not been able to find Sukhwinder Singh. The family members have alleged that despite repeated complaints to the police, the Fatehgarh Sahib police have not taken any serious action till date.
Mr. Chunni said that they have visited all possible places, relatives, canals, religious places and inquired about them but no trace of them was found. He said that when the CCTV footage of the rooms was checked, it was seen that a member of the gang was seen making his companion sit on a scooter and then disappearing. He demanded that the case be immediately investigated and justice be done to the family.
