
Retreat ceremony at Hussainiwala border postponed due to rising water level in Sutlej.
Ferozepur- Due to rising water level in Sutlej river, the daily retreat ceremony at Hussainiwala border in Ferozepur has been postponed until further orders. The water of Sutlej has also engulfed the Joint Check Post, where the retreat ceremony is performed by BSF and Pak Rangers.

Due to rising water level, the entire area has been submerged in water. To take stock of the situation, Ferozepur Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma and DIG BSF visited the Joint Check Post. They said that large-scale relief work has been started to save Satpal Chowki from water.
DIG BSF said that keeping in mind the safety of the people and due to the rising water level, the retreat ceremony has been postponed for some time. The said officials have advised the people not to visit the retreat ceremony and visit the border at this time to avoid any untoward incident.
They said that information regarding the resumption of the retreat ceremony will be given to the people.
