Orders issued to perform 24-hour vigilance and guard duty in view of floods.

Hoshiarpur- District Magistrate Ashika Jain, exercising the powers vested in her under Section 3 (1) of the Village and Small Town Patrol Act, 1918, has issued an order for healthy adult males of all villages to perform 24-hour vigilance and guard duty on the banks of canals, bunds of Choan, and dangerous points of the Dhussi Dam built on the banks of River Beas to prevent the dam from breaking due to floods.

Hoshiarpur- District Magistrate Ashika Jain, exercising the powers vested in her under Section 3 (1) of the Village and Small Town Patrol Act, 1918, has issued an order for healthy adult males of all villages to perform 24-hour vigilance and guard duty on the banks of canals, bunds of Choan, and dangerous points of the Dhussi Dam built on the banks of River Beas to prevent the dam from breaking due to floods.
She also ordered that every village panchayat will ensure that the said duty is performed in its area of ??operation by fully implementing the section under the said Act.
He said that keeping in mind the law and order in the district, it is very important to protect the lives, property, livestock and movable and immovable property of the general public of Hoshiarpur district from floods, because during the rainy season, floods etc. can cause damage to them and there is a fear of deteriorating law and order situation. The District Magistrate said that it is very important to make special security arrangements in the rivers, streams and canals in Hoshiarpur district during the rains, because during the rains, the risk of possible dam failure increases at the dangerous points of the Dhussi dam built on the banks of streams, canals and river Beas in the district. Therefore, it is necessary to make adequate arrangements for Thikri Pahre etc. at special places by the volunteers of the villages.
