
Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Chandigarh expresses deep sorrow over the demise of Shromani litterateur Shri Ram Arsh.
Mohali- The cremation of eminent personality of Punjabi literature, Ustad Ghazalgo Shri Ram Arsh, who passed away last night after a prolonged illness, was performed at the cremation ground in Mohali this afternoon. A large number of litterateurs, family members and intellectuals attended the funeral and paid tribute to Shri Ram Arsh.

A large number of litterateurs, family members and intellectuals attended the funeral and paid tribute to Shri Ram Arsh.
Shri Arsh was associated with the Punjabi Lekhak Sabha for a long time. Apart from serving as its President, he also held many other positions. He also played an active role in the Central Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and other literary organizations. Arsh ji, who has written 21 books, has been awarded many honors, including the prestigious Shromani Kavi Puraskar conferred by the Language Department Punjab in 2021.
Shri Arsh is survived by two sons and a daughter. Prominent personalities who attended the funeral rituals included former minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, Comrade Banat Singh Brar, Babu Ram Deewana, and literary personalities like Dr Sukhdev Singh Sirsa, Dr Labh Singh Khiva, Gurnam Kanwar, Balkar Sidhu, Deepak Sharma Chanarthal, Bhupinder Singh Malik, Pal Ajnabi, Harminder Kalra, Gurdev Pal, Usha Kanwar, Dildar Singh, Devi Dayal Sharma, Pritam Hundal, Gurdarshan Singh Mavi, Davinder Kaur Dhillon, Harjit Singh, Sardara Singh Cheema, Govardhan Gabbi, Gurjinder Singh, Sachpreet Khiva, Shayar Bhatti, and Prahlad Singh.
