Giving information in this regard, Garhshankar Police Station Chief Jaipal said that during the special blockade carried out following the specific instructions of District Police Chief Sandeep Malik, the police party led by Inspector Kuldeep Singh checked the road leading from Denowal Khurd village of Garhshankar to the dirt road Panama. The canal siphons were installed on it. When a woman coming from the side of Ibrahimpur village holding an envelope in her hand was checked on suspicion, two kg 306 grams of opium were recovered from the possession of that woman.
According to Inspector Jaipal, this woman has been identified as Munni Patni Ravi, resident of Nakattian, Bareilly Cantt police station, Bareilly district, UP. He said that a case has been registered against the arrested woman under Section 18 61 85 of the NDPS Act and the accused woman will be produced in court and remanded for further interrogation so that it can be found out from whom she had purchased this opium and to whom she was to sell it.
