Hoshiarpur: On the second day of the Sri Ram Katha being held at the Dussehra grounds in Hoshiarpur, devotees were moved by the story of Shiva's marriage. Narrator Rajan Ji Maharaj recounted the tale of Shiva's marriage with great respect and love, captivating the audience with hymns. He described how, at the request of the gods, Lord Brahma determined the auspicious time for the wedding, and preparations began.
All the gods became preoccupied with wedding preparations, becoming so preoccupied with adorning themselves that they forgot to adorn Lord Shiva. Consequently, the Lord asked his followers to adorn him. The followers adorned the Lord in such a way that the Ganas found him extremely beautiful, but anyone else would be terrified to see him. The Ganas fashioned a crown from the Lord's matted hair and adorned him with snake garlands and earrings around his neck and ears.
The seat on which the Lord sat was wrapped around his waist and tied with a snake. The Lord was adorned with a garland of nine skulls, and his turban was also made of snakes. Seeing Lord Shiva's appearance, the gods began to think that if the Lord leads such a wedding procession, it would be a wedding. Lord Vishnu told the gods to proceed ahead, and they would see what would happen.
All the gods left the groom and moved on. When the Ganas informed the Lord of this, the Lord asked them to summon all his devotees. Upon receiving the Lord's command, ghosts, spirits, and all creatures of the universe began to flock to Kailash to join the Lord's wedding procession, and chants of "Har Har Mahadev" echoed everywhere. When the gods reached the gates of King Himalaya, the city dwellers waiting to welcome them were overwhelmed by the sight and wondered if the procession was so beautiful, how handsome the groom would be.
A city resident went to Lord Vishnu and said that Lord you are the groom, then the Lord said that no, he is coming behind. Meanwhile, when Lord Shankar reached there with ghosts and spirits, everyone started running here and there in fear. On the request of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva took his beautiful form and the marriage of the Lord was completed with all the rituals. The whole pandal resonated with the chants of Har Har Mahadev due to the story of the marriage of Lord Shiva Shankar.
Pujya Rajan ji said that Lord Shiva is very simple and getting him is even easier. During this, the whole pandal started dancing on the hymns of Bhole Nath sung by him. On this occasion, apart from the main hosts Brijesh Chandra Vijay and Prabha Rashmi, among the great men, the loving mother Sneh Amritanand Ji Bhrigu Shastri, former minister Som Prakash, former minister Tikshan Sood, Satyavrat Giri Ji Maharaj, among the daily hosts Haridev Bagga and Ashok Bagga along with their families, Sheetal Gupta and Anju Gupta, Vijay Sharma and Sunita Sharma, Harish Anand and Navita Anand, Anil Sood and Poonam Sood, Vipin Walia and Anuradha Walia and Sonia Sharma and Shubhankar Bhardwaj performed the puja.
