Nawanshahr:- Today, the United Kisan Morcha, workers' organizations and employees' organizations held a tractor-motorcycle march in Nawanshahr against the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, Agricultural Seed Amendment Bill 2025, four labor codes, Ji Ram Ji and privatization. This march started from Langroa bypass and passed through Nawanshahr and various villages and ended at village Asman Pur.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said that the central government should immediately repeal both the Electricity Amendment Bill and the Agricultural Seed Amendment Bill. Electricity and agriculture are state subjects and come under the jurisdiction of the state governments. Both these bills are a robbery on the rights of the state. The central government is continuously eroding the federal structure of the country. With the enactment of the Electricity Bill, electricity will be completely privatized, which is why the process of installing smart meters is underway across the country.
The electricity distribution sector, which is under government control, will go into private hands. Just as money has to be paid to charge a mobile phone, similarly money will have to be paid to buy electricity. Money gone, electricity gone. There will be centralization of electricity, subsidies will end and consumers will be victims of looting by private electricity companies.
Government recruitments will end and the number of employees will be limited. Similarly, with the enactment of the Seed Bill, farmers will not be able to use their seeds without registration. Private companies, both domestic and foreign, will sell their seeds at arbitrary rates. Agricultural universities conducting research will be closed and Syngenta, Seeds of foreign companies like Bayer, Corteva Agriscience will be sold in the market.
The central government is going to hand over agriculture to corporates with these laws, this will be strongly opposed. He said that the Punjab government is also a silent spectator. It should not approve them in the Vidhan Sabha. If the central government does not withdraw both the bills, people will be mobilized against the government across the country and the government should be ready to face strong opposition.
The four labor codes implemented by the Modi government are a huge attack on the working class. This will end the right to form a union and strike, permanent jobs will be lost. The leaders said that the Modi government has replaced MGNREGA with the 'Developed India Ji Ram Ji' law, which is anti-labor.
He said that tractor marches will be taken out on December 30 in Aur area, on January 1 in Balachaur area, and on January 3 in Banga area. On January 16, a large number of people will protest in front of Powercom's Circle Nawanshahr office, for which preparations are in full swing.
