Una, July 27: The quarterly meeting of the Una Zila Parishad was held on Monday at the Zila Parishad conference hall. The meeting was presided over by the newly elected Zila Parishad Chairperson, Pawan Kumar Lambardar. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Una, Ishant Jaswal, was specially present on the occasion. All newly elected Zila Parishad members, officials from various departments, and Block Development Officers (BDOs) participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, Zila Parishad Chairperson Pawan Kumar Lambardar held detailed discussions on various issues related to public interest and development. He instructed officials from all departments to ensure effective implementation of development works and public welfare schemes through mutual coordination. He emphasized that all projects and schemes must be completed with quality and within the stipulated timeframes so that the benefits of government schemes reach the maximum number of eligible citizens on time. He also stressed the importance of prioritizing transparency, accountability, and public participation in development activities.
Five standing committees were constituted during the meeting to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Zila Parishad. These include the General Standing Committee; Finance, Audit, and Planning Committee; Social Justice Committee; Education and Health Committee; and Agriculture and Industry Committee. Through these committees, regular review and effective monitoring of various developmental and public interest issues will be ensured.
During the meeting, Zila Parishad Vice-Chairperson Avinash Manan presented detailed suggestions regarding the protection, care, and shelter arrangements for stray cattle in the district. He advocated for taking long-term and positive steps in this direction. Addressing this issue, CEO and ADC Ishant Jaswal instructed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to promptly provide detailed information about the *Gausadans* (cattle shelters) operating within their respective jurisdictions, so that effective action could be taken by formulating appropriate plans based on requirements. During the meeting, other Zila Parishad members also prominently raised issues concerning development works, basic amenities, public grievances, and various matters of public interest in their respective areas. These topics were discussed in detail with the concerned departmental officials, and instructions were issued to ensure necessary action.
On this occasion, District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kumar presented detailed information regarding various administrative and developmental matters concerning the Zila Parishad. He elaborated on the Zila Parishad's activities as well as the provisions, schemes, and effective implementation of development works related to the 16th Finance Commission.
