Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 19:- Under the “Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana” launched by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for senior citizens across Punjab, three more buses were flagged off from the assembly constituency Mohali today for the pilgrimage to Sri Amritsar Sahib by MLA Kulwant Singh.
These buses left from Gurdwara Sector-78, Sector-66 and village Safipur. These buses, filled with devotees, will return after visiting Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Durgiana Temple, Ram Tirath Sri Valmiki Temple, Wagah Border and Jallianwala Bagh in Sri Amritsar Sahib.
Talking to reporters on this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the demand among the devotees for registration for the yatra is continuously increasing and the enthusiasm among the people is clearly visible. He said that in the initial phase, there was hesitation among the people towards this yatra, but as the devotees returning from the yatra are sharing their experiences, more people are also joining this scheme. He said that this is a very people-friendly scheme started by the Aam Aadmi Party government.
He further said that at Sri Amritsar Sahib, the devotees visit the Gurdwara Sahib and temples according to their faith, after which they visit the historical places of Ram Tirath, Wagah Border and Jallianwala Bagh. During this entire yatra, a medical team and a guide are also with the senior citizen for his convenience, so that he can get detailed information about the historical places.
On this occasion, the constituency coordinator of the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme and state awardee Phulraj Singh said that during the journey, the devotees share their experiences with MLA Kulwant Singh and thank Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
On this occasion, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and social worker Kuldeep Singh Samana, Deputy Mayor of Mohali Corporation Harpal Singh Channa, Akbinder Singh Gosal, Amarjit Singh Sidhu, Karamjit Kaur Councilor, Jagdish Singh Sohna, Gian Kaur Sarpanch Safipur, Karamjit Singh Kala Safipur, Davinder Singh Sarpanch, Karamjit Kumar Bittu Sarpanch, Baljit Singh Happy, Pargat Singh, Navtej Singh, Gurdhyan Singh and Harbachan Singh Grewal were also present.
