Karnal, October 17 (Praveen Walia):- Under the able guidance and directions of Karnal Superintendent of Police Karan Goyal, IPS, the district police are taking continuous strict action against those involved in serious crimes such as murder. As part of this drive, the CIA-1 team in Karnal has arrested the third accused and taken a minor into custody in connection with the murder of Aryan in Sector 14, Karnal, allegedly stemming from old enmity. The police have also recovered a motorcycle used in the crime.
The arrested accused has been identified as Zorawar Singh, son of Manpreet Singh, a resident of Basant Vihar, Karnal.
Taking action in the case, a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Madan Singh, under the supervision of CIA-1 Karnal in-charge Inspector Sandeep Singh, apprehended Zorawar Singh from Basant Vihar, Karnal. A minor has also been taken into custody in connection with the case. The police have recovered a motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.
According to the investigating officer, on October 12, 2026, some youths attacked Aryan with knives and sticks in the main market of Sector 14, Karnal, due to old enmity. Aryan sustained serious injuries in the attack. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, but due to his critical condition, he was referred to a higher medical centre. He later died on the way while being taken to PGI Chandigarh.
Based on a complaint regarding the incident, a case was registered at Civil Line Police Station, Karnal, on October 12, 2026, under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to the investigating officer, the preliminary investigation has revealed the alleged involvement of arrested accused Zorawar Singh and the minor taken into custody in the crime.
The police team produced the arrested accused before the competent court, which ordered that he be sent to judicial custody at the district jail. The minor was taken into custody in accordance with the prescribed procedure and sent to the juvenile observation home in Ambala.
