Una/Hoshiarpur:- District Congress Committee Una President Desh Raj Gautam, while appreciating the budget recently presented by the state government, described it as a document of public welfare and balanced development. Addressing a press conference held in Una on Tuesday, the district president said that despite limited financial resources, the government has shown foresight by presenting such a budget in which special attention has been given to the needs of every section of society—poor, farmers, women, youth, and employees.
Gautam said that this budget is not merely a compilation of figures, but presents a concrete framework for the overall and inclusive development of the state. Specifically mentioning the provisions made for women empowerment, he said that several schemes have been given priority to make women self-reliant and economically empowered. Along with this, relief measures have been taken for farmers and livestock rearers, which will strengthen the rural economy and infuse new energy into the agriculture sector.
He also described the provisions made for employees and pensioners as relieving, stating that the government has taken positive initiatives by understanding their long-pending demands. Gautam said that the emphasis laid on the development of education, health, and infrastructure in the budget is an important step towards strengthening the future of the state.
Responding to the criticism of the budget by the Bharatiya Janata Party, he said that the attitude of the Bharatiya Janata Party has always been negative. He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party has repeatedly tried to create obstacles in the development works of the state and is still attempting to mislead the public.
Targeting the central Government of India as well, Gautam said that stopping the revenue deficit grant to Himachal is against the interests of the state. He stated that the silence of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders on this issue exposes their double standards. Gautam said that under the leadership of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government will touch new heights of development. He added that this budget will bring positive changes in the coming time and the people of the state will get direct benefits from it.
On this occasion, senior Congress leader Comrade Jagat Ram Sharma, Tilak Raj Saini, Parveen Dua, Vijay Angra, Ashok Saini, Hemraj Saini, Daulat Ram, Ashish Sharma, Ashok Chaudhary, Pawan Kumar, Abhishek Sharma, Suresh Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, and Nikhil Sharma were present.
