Nawanshahr- A special meeting of the local Upkar Coordination Society was held at the Upkar office under the chairmanship of President JS Gidda. The meeting discussed the threats arising for the safety of girls. The meeting was conducted by Pravinder Singh Jassomjara, General Secretary.
The members present emphasized that today girls are not safe, an example of which is the tragic incident that happened with a girl in a private hospital yesterday.
The house unanimously condemned the incident that happened in the ICU of a private hospital. Exemplary punishment was demanded for the accused and those who incited them. The meeting expressed sympathy with the victim girl and her parents. The meeting praised those thinkers of the society whose efforts have enabled the police to register a case.
The negligence of the doctor of the concerned hospital raises big questions. Strict action has been demanded against the culprits of the incident and other responsible persons so that such anti-social elements do not have the courage to commit such crimes in the future. The delegation of the society will soon submit a memorandum to the district administration in this regard and demand that proper arrangements be made for the safety of the daughters.
J.S. Gidda, Parvinder Singh Jassomjara, Des Raj Bali, Birbal Takhi, Narinder Singh Bharta, Dr. Avtar Singh Denowal Kalan, Principal Bikramjit Singh, Harbans Kaur, Jyoti Bagga, Rajinder Kaur Gidda, Balwinder Kaur Bali, Satnam Singh Chak Guru and Parminder Singh Basiala were present in the meeting.
