Una, January 24: Himachal Pradesh's Technical Education and Town and Country Planning Minister, Rajesh Dharmani, will be the chief guest at the district-level Republic Day celebrations to be held in Una. He will hoist the national flag at the ceremony to be held on January 26 at the premises of Government Senior Secondary Boys School, Una. A revised program has been issued in this regard. According to the revised program, the Technical Education Minister will be the chief guest in Una, while the Health Minister will now be the chief guest at the district-level ceremony in Solan instead of Una.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has given necessary instructions to the officers of all concerned departments to make the Republic Day celebrations well-organized and dignified.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the Technical Education Minister will pay homage at the Martyrs' Memorial at MC Park at 10:45 AM on January 26. After this, he will hoist the national flag at 11 AM at the premises of Government Senior Secondary Boys School, Una.
After hoisting the flag, the chief guest will inspect the parade, take the salute of the march past, and address the district residents.
The parade will include contingents of police and home guards, as well as NCC and NSS students. During the program, cultural performances based on patriotism and folk culture will also be presented by students and drama troupes from various educational institutions of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that an alternative arrangement has also been made at the Town Hall for the program in case of inclement weather.
Jatin Lal said that attractive tableaux based on various public welfare and development schemes of the state government will be presented at the ceremony. These will include
tableaux related to the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Student Loan Scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day Boarding School, as well as the Health, AYUSH, Agriculture, Horticulture, Red Cross, Samarthya, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries departments.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that officers and employees who have performed outstanding work in various departments will be honored during the program. Special awards will also be given to those presenting the best tableau, best stall, and best cultural performance. In addition, freedom fighters from the district and brave soldiers who have been awarded gallantry awards will be specially honored.
Jatin Lal informed that with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle, stalls offering healthy food items will be set up at the venue, similar to the Eat Right Fair. Government departments as well as self-help groups will participate in these stalls. In addition, various departments will also set up stalls showcasing their schemes and products.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the district residents to participate in the ceremony in large numbers and celebrate this national festival with collective enthusiasm, dignity, and joy.
