Sangrur, June 01: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, the schedule for SIR (Special Intensive Revision)-2026 in the state of Punjab has been released. Under the pre-SIR activities in Punjab, the work of mapping existing voters in the voter list with the year 2003 voter list is currently underway. To ensure the mapping of voters who have not yet been mapped with the 2003 voter list, special camps are being organized at all polling booths of the district's five assembly constituencies—99-Lehra, 100-Dirba, 101-Sunam, 107-Dhuri, and 108-Sangrur—on Sunday, 07.06.2026.
On the day of this special camp, BLOs will be present at their respective polling booths from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM to facilitate mapping and assist voters.
Sharing this information, District Election Officer Poonamdeep Kaur appealed to all voters of Sangrur district to take maximum advantage of this special camp. She urged them to coordinate with their booth-level officers (BLOs) and provide the necessary details so that voters currently in the list who remain 'unmapped' can be successfully mapped with the 2003 voter list.
Additionally, an appeal has been made to all political parties to inform their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to participate in this special camp and coordinate with the BLOs, ensuring that the entire process is completed as per the official guidelines.
