Derabassi, February 11:- A special bus of pilgrims from village Bhagwanpur was left for Amritsar by Derabassi MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa today under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme. On this occasion, he congratulated the pilgrims and said that this is an important and public-interest initiative by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the elderly visit religious places.
He said that under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme, the Mann government is making the elderly visit religious places free of cost and special care is being taken of their health, safety and other facilities during the journey. The aim of this scheme is to connect the elderly spiritually and make them experience spiritual peace.
Under this yatra, people will visit Sri Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmik Tirath Sthal Ram Tirath, Jallianwala Wala Bagh and Wagah Border. The accommodation and food arrangements of the pilgrims have been made by the Punjab Government.
S. Randhawa said that through the Mukhtar Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana, the Mann Sarkar is doing true service to the elderly and is committed to their welfare. He said that this yatra will provide spiritual peace and satisfaction to the pilgrims along with visiting religious places.
Local administrative officers, Panchayat representatives and residents of the area were also present on the occasion.
