Chandigarh, June 4:- Haryana Energy Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that the state government is working on a new scheme, under which solar system will be made available to domestic consumers with 1 kW load.
He said that the special feature of this scheme will be that the beneficiaries will not have to go through any bank for bank loan or guarantee. The employees of the department will themselves go to the homes of the consumers and complete the process and get solar systems installed on their roofs. After this, the electricity bill of such consumers will be almost zero. He said that there are more than 7 lakh consumers with load up to 1 kW in Haryana, who can get the benefit of this scheme.
Mr. Vij was answering the questions of the media personnel today.
He further informed that a similar arrangement is also proposed for consumers up to 5 kW who regularly pay their electricity bills. Apart from the government subsidy received under this scheme, the remaining amount will be taken from the consumers in easy installments and for this too there will be no need for bank loans.
Similarly, Mr. Vij said that recently he has also placed a proposal before the Union Power Minister Mr. Manohar Lal, under which such farmers whose land is lying vacant and whose family members live outside will be able to set up solar plants on their land at their own expense. After this, the government will buy the electricity generated from them at the prescribed rates. This will provide an additional source of income to the farmers and will also encourage clean energy production in the state.
He informed that Haryana is going to receive three prestigious awards at the national level today for the excellent operation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. He said that awards are not given on the basis of recommendations, but on the basis of work and the government always honors those who perform better. Mr. Vij said that the Central Government has included Haryana among the leading states in the field of solar energy. He said that the State Government will make more efforts in this direction and is moving forward with the goal of making Haryana completely self-reliant in the field of solar energy.
Mr. Vij said that wherever he was given responsibility in the government, he worked with full loyalty and dedication. He said that while working in important departments like Health and Home, he achieved commendable achievements and was also honored by actor Amitabh Bachchan for his excellent work in the Health Department. He said that in this context, today Haryana is being honored by the Central Government under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Mufti Bijli Yojana.
He said that Haryana has received the maximum number of applications under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Mufti Bijli Yojana. The state government has set a target of installing 2.20 lakh solar rooftop systems in the current year, which will be completed before the deadline.
Mr. Vij said that the state government is continuously working to make Haryana the leading state in the country in the field of solar energy. He said that the main source of energy of the future is solar energy, because traditional energy sources like coal, gas and petrol are limited. The government is working towards meeting the energy needs of the state by making maximum use of this renewable energy source blessed by nature.
He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, farmers of the state have also installed a large number of solar pumps. Recently, the portal of the scheme has been closed, but thousands of applications are still pending, which will be disposed of soon and solar pumps will be made available to the eligible farmers.
