Ambala, September 13:- Bharatiya Janata Party, Haryana State President Dr. Archana Gupta said that positive change in society is possible not only through government efforts, but also through the active participation of social organisations, knowledgeable citizens and the general public. She said social organisations should join the 'Seva Sankalp Campaign' being undertaken to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public life and expand service activities so that the benefits reach every eligible, needy and deprived person.
On Sunday, at the 'Khushhali' and public reflection seminar organised by Rotary International District 3080 at Regenta City Vilas Palace in Ambala, Dr. Archana Gupta interacted with Rotary representatives from Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh. She said Rotary members represent an informed and responsible section of society. Law and administration alone are not sufficient to curb the growing trend of drug abuse, especially among the youth. To achieve this, two important aspects need to be addressed at the social level: social monitoring and moral support. Families, teachers, social organisations and responsible citizens should identify changes in the behaviour of young people at an early stage and, instead of abandoning them, provide appropriate guidance and emotional support.
BJP State President Dr. Gupta said that the life and values of the person whom an individual considers a role model have a deep impact on their behaviour. Therefore, it is essential to connect young people with positive role models who inspire discipline, hard work, national service and character building. The life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an example of struggle, hard work, self-discipline and public service. By connecting young people with his 25 years of public life, they can be encouraged to stay away from drug addiction and negative tendencies and be motivated towards building society and the nation. She called upon social organisations to promote health camps, women's and children's health, sanitation, tree plantation, environmental protection, rainwater conservation, volunteering, drug de-addiction awareness and career counselling. Rotary Foundation District Governor Dr. Rita Kalra, Dr. Sanjay Kalra, Dheeraj Miglani, Arun Mongia, T.K. Ruby, Sandeep Jain, BJP State Secretary Gurpreet Kaur, BJP District President Mandeep Rana, Ambala Municipal Corporation Mayor Akshita Saini and 800 Rotary International officials were present at the event.
