Chandigarh, November 27:- Haryana Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the State Institute for Rehabilitation, Research and Training (SIRTAR) located in Rohtak will be developed as a modern institution. He said that the Sirtar Institute will also be equipped with modern facilities with a strong infrastructure so that it can be recognized as an important institution at the national level.
Shri Krishan Bedi was presiding over the 7th meeting of the Governing Body with the officials of the State Rehabilitation, Training and Research Institute (SIRTAR Institute, Rohtak) in Chandigarh today. He said that facilities for subjects related to disabilities in children like early diagnosis, assessment, therapy and treatment will also be made available in Sirtar Institute.
Mr. Bedi also discussed with the authorities about starting a new curriculum in the institute and directed the authorities to prepare a draft for the same. Mr. Bedi discussed with the authorities about preparing a road map to bring Sirtar Institute to the national level and assured all kinds of help from the government. In the meeting, it was also decided to register the Group C and D employees working in Sirtar Institute for a long time under Haryana Skill Employment Corporation.
State Institute for Rehabilitation, Research and Training, Sirtar Rohtak has been working for the past many years to provide education as well as rehabilitation facilities to bring children with special needs into the mainstream of society.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya Department Mrs. G. Anupama, Director Mr. Prashant Panwar, Commissioner of Rohtak Division Mr. Rajiv Ratan, Deputy Commissioner of Rohtak Mr. Sachin Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Narendra Kumar and Principal of Sirtar Institute Mr. AD Paswan.
